Fire in Przechówko

The newspaper Dziennik Bydgoski for 1935, No. 80 was published on Friday, April 5, 1935.  It reports the following:

ŚWIECIE. In the village of Przechówko, near Świecie, a fire broke out in the afternoon hours in the farm buildings of farmer Augustyn Korthalsa, which in a relatively short time engulfed all the buildings: the residential house, pigsty, barn, and stable. The firefighting effort was very difficult here, given that the individual buildings were thatched with straw. 

A strong wind then carried the flames to the roof of the buildings of neighbor Wilhelma Banna, and here the stable and barn burned down. The damages caused by the fire are very severe and amount to about 11,500 zł for Korthals, and for Bann to about 5,000 zł, part of which will be covered by insurance.
